What our Guests say

Kate February 2017

Andrew and Elaine were perfect hosts. Elaine met us at the agreed time and showed us around the chalet, which had everything we needed as a group of 6 for a comfortable stay. The chalet is top spec as well as spotlessly clean. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible - games, dvds, lovely cake, wine, comfy dressing gowns! Nothing was too much trouble for them. Andrew and Elaine also have a wealth of information about local skiing which helped us plan our time in the 3 valleys. The fire was lovely to relax in front of in the evening after a day in the snow. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area and hope to return soon.

This is our 6th year staying at chalet Vache Bleue... we simply love it... the nicest chalet prob in the village.. everything is tip top.. from literally the smallest to the largest. Andi and Elaine don't k miss a trick from the small laminated cards telling you which trails to go on... to the a complete and fully loaded kitchen. You literally need to just bring your suitcase and you'll feel right at home. They are always available for any sort of advise or questions regarding your stay or the area.. see you again next year!

Martin, Mary, Cameron and Kyle Christmas 2016

In researching our Christmas family skiing holiday we spent a lot of time on the internet trying to find the perfect (or as near perfect) accommodation we could and Chalet Vache Bleue certainly ticked the boxes. Our expectations were high from the photos and comments of previous guests and in truth they barely do justice as to what a beautifully presented home from home this was. We wanted for nothing in the chalet with all facilities to an excellent standard and this was underlined by the level of attention to the small details that just gave that special touch. Andrew and Elaine could not have done more for us from providing information about ski hire, lift passes etc, a delicious Yule Log and even collecting a lost phone from the police station - thank you so much. Les Allues is a charming Savoie village within easy reach of Meribel with an excellent bus service. When we did eat out we preferred the restaurants of Les Allues for quality, atmophere and value to the glitz of Meribel. We loved Chalet Vache Bleue, we loved the ambiance of Les Allues, we loved the variety of skiing potential in the 3 Valleys and we would love to come back again.

Kathryn, Terry and family January 2016

My family has just spent an amazing week at Chalet Vache Bleue in the beautiful and charming village of Les Allues. This accommodation is extremely well appointed, has a superb layout and finished to the highest standard. It is spotless, modern but homely, and it was truly a pleasure to come back each evening to such comfort. Andrew and Elaine were always close at hand if we needed any advice and there was even gorgeous home baking at times from Elaine! A frequent and free bus service to Meribel is only a few minutes away, although we enjoyed the bars and restaurants in Les Allues itself. We are so happy to have discovered this chalet and look forward to our next visit!

We would like to thank you for providing such wonderful accommodation in Les Allues. We are a family of 6, including my son and his wife,  and it was great to find a place where all three rooms had an en suite.  Chalet Vache Bleue gave us one of the best holiday accommodation experiences we have ever had. We had the flexibility of eating in or out. You were both so helpful with advice before setting off from Australia and continued to provide useful suggestions during our stay.  The place was immaculate , beautiful high ceilings , really spacious.  We wanted for nothing.  It was home away from home.  All the little touches, warm boots in the morning, gifts on arrival , internet access,  inviting fireplace, superbly stocked kitchen. …the list goes on.  Just fabulous, thank you.  Cathy and Michael.

Katie and Family February 2016

Chalet Vache Bleue is one of the best kept secrets in the Three Valleys. Once we unearthed this hidden gem, Andrew and Elaine made booking easy and gave us the sense we were very welcome in their stunning Chalet. The high quality finish, modern decor and clever layout made the Chalet feel like a real home from home, which was a fantastic way to relax in after a hard day on the slopes. We were slightly worried that being a little out of town would take something from the experience, but the frequent and free bus service meant we got all the benefits of superior accommodation at a better price, and still didn’t miss out on any of the nightlife in Merribel. All in all, we had probably the best skiing holiday we’ve ever had at Chalet Vache Bleue, and we’ll be booking up for next year before too many people find out about it

Gavin and Julia - 2012, 2013 and 2014

The problem with giving a good review is that it encourages others to visit, and when, like our family, we have returned for three consecutive years, this simply increases the risk that it will be inconveniently booked already!

But our recurring visits to this beautiful alpine village say it all.  We were one of the first to stay at this stunningly converted old barn in arguably the best location in the village.  Old barn it is no more, with three gorgeous en suite bathrooms serving each a double bedroom that retain some original charm and individuality.  The open plan sitting room breaths modernity with Wi-Fi, Bose music system and TV at your fingertips, with leather settees offering comfort after a tough day on the slopes in arguably the best skiing in Europe, along with open bio-fuel fire and electronically controlled heating throughout.

The owners, Elaine and Andrew could not be more helpful with encyclopedic local knowledge, from ski hire, restaurants on and off the slopes, to arranging a taxi to Geneva airport and more.

Chalet Vache Bleue is a gem. It would be better kept a secret but sadly it is just too good for this to happen.

Richard and Judith Johnson February 2013:

Chalet Vache Bleue comprises of two separate wonderfully appointed luxurious apartments, one sleeping six and one sleeping two. They have been architect designed with no expense spared and provide the ultimate in comfort. From the beautiful solid light oak staircases and flooring through to the top of the range kitchen appliances and wonderfully comfortable beds the analogy that comes to mind is 'skiing in knee deep powder on a perfect day'.

Deb and Mike December 2012  to January 2013:

Having decided to take an extended trip from Australia to the French Alps in 2013 we had a hard brief to meet - modern, relaxing, stylish, easy to get to the snow, somewhere that would feel like home.

We chanced upon Chalet Vache Bleue, it looked ideal on the website.  In Les Allues, rather than Meribel town centre, modern and beautifully appointed (a touch of Sydney style in the Alps).  When we arrived the chalet exceeded all expectations, we had a wonderful 5 weeks there.  Relaxing in the chalet was just as enjoyable as being out on the snow - the pictures really do not do it justice.  Andy and Elaine were the most welcoming couple you could hope to meet as well.

We enjoyed it so much that we have booked again for next year.

February 19th 2012: 7 days in ski paradise, amongst the charms of a typical Savoie village atmosphere. How refreshing it was to find Chalet Bleue a new excellently refurbished barn apartment that  has been built on three levels. Andrew and Elaine welcomed us as trusted friends, a bottle of wine and a basket of essential shopping awaited. The apartment was spotless clean, warm beautifully decorated and thoughtfully laid out. The fantastic snow allowed us to ski back to the village.  On Thursday evening we enjoyed watching the ski instructors complete an amazing torch lit decent into the village, it appeared that  the whole  community had gathered to show their appreciation with  hot wine and traditional cold meats. What a little gem!

Well done Chalet Bleue and we look forward to our next visit.

Regards

John and Sally.

We had such a lovely holiday this year and i must say the apartment (house really!) was the very best that we've ever stayed in in the 3 valleys! You have catered for absolutely everything.  We won't be back next year - as we only go every other year - but I will be in touch with you after that!
I'll email you later.

Best wishes.
